SIGA Project Meeting in Limassol, Cyprus

Partners Gather to Share Insights and Plan Next Steps - The third transnational meeting of the project took place in Limassol, Cyprus, bringing together representatives from Croatia, Italy, Spain, and Slovenia.

As part of the Erasmus+ KA2 initiative, the meeting served as an important opportunity for partners to reflect on recent activities, exchange experiences, and coordinate the next stages of the project.

Reviewing the Home Herbal Pharmacy Pilot Workshops

A key focus of the meeting was the review of the Home Herbal Pharmacy pilot workshops, which were conducted in each partner country. Over the past months, 60 seniors have participated in these interactive sessions, gaining hands-on experience with wild medicinal plants, sustainable harvesting techniques, and the creation of herbal preparations.

Discussions highlighted the impact of the workshops, with reports indicating that participants developed a stronger awareness of environmental sustainability and an increased interest in traditional herbal knowledge. Partners shared feedback on best practices, challenges, and participant engagement, aiming to refine the program for future implementation.

Next Steps: Development of the SIGA Recipe Book

The meeting also focused on the next major output of the project: a comprehensive Recipe Book featuring a collection of 20 herbal recipes from the participating countries. This resource will provide:

  • Step-by-step instructions on preparing herbal remedies
  • Information on medicinal plants native to different regions
  • Guidelines on sustainable foraging to protect biodiversity

The Recipe Book aims to be an accessible and practical guide for seniors and the wider public, promoting natural health practices while ensuring ecological responsibility.

Ongoing Progress and Future Plans

With the Home Herbal Pharmacy program completed and the Recipe Book in development, the SIGA project is steadily moving forward. The next phase will involve the creation of a digital learning platform, which will provide open access to educational materials, video tutorials, and interactive learning resources.

By combining practical knowledge, digital accessibility, and community engagement, the project continues to support lifelong learning, environmental sustainability, and active aging. Further updates and resources will be shared as the project progresses.
